Description:
Dvorák's occasional composition for mixed choir and orchestra was commissioned by the Prague Hlahol Singers' Association in 1879. The piece went into print in 1888 in Berlin with the publisher Simrock. The piano reduction contains the vocal text in three languages - Czech, English and German. The title is part of the first complete edition of A. Dvorák's works. With a preface by Jarmil Burghauser (cz., eng., ger., fr.).
