Description:
Sergei Prokofiev began work on Symphony No. 1 in D major, Op. 25 in 1916, but wrote most of it in 1917, completing the piece on September 10, 1917. The symphony was premiered on April 21, 1918 in Petrograd, conducted by the composer. This critical edition by Clinton Nieweg is based on all available sources. Instrumentation: 2.2.2.2: 2.2.0.0: Timp: Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set). Newly engraved with transposed Clarinet and Trumpet parts in the set.
