Description:
Aho will turn 60 years on 9 March. His 14th symphony features Arabian and Chinese hues and hypnotic rhythms with an extensive role for the percussion (darabuka, djembe, gongs). The work was inspired by video works by the Iranian artist Shirin Neshat.
