2 Flutes, Oboe, 2 Clarinets in Bb, Bassoon
2 Horns in F (or Eb), 3 Trumpets in Bb, 3 Trombones, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion (Side drum)
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola or Violin 3, Cello, Bass)
These two marches by Jeremiah Clarke are entitled 'King William's March' and 'The Prince of Denmark's March'; the latter had wrongly been attributed to Henry Purcell and is still often referred to as his 'Trumpet Voluntary'. 'King William's March' is short and is more in the nature of an extended fanfare. The Eb Horns part can be played by alto saxophones.
