Description:
PARTITURE IN A3 FORMAT Juraj Filas is a composer whose musical language is characterized by a strong emotional intensity and a deeply lyrical compositional style. His Viola Concerto is part of a neo-romantic aesthetic characterized by expressiveness and dramatic tension. From the beginning of the work, the viola is at the center of a very vocal solo part whose phrasing seems almost vocal. The orchestra functions both as a support and as a contrasting partner, creating dense, contrasting dialog spaces. The viola's melodic lines explore the instrument's entire expressive palette, from intimate singing to tense outbursts. The orchestral composition, which is rich and at times sombre, reinforces the emotional depth of the expression. One senses a continuous build-up towards ever more intense moods, without ever interrupting the narrative coherence. The concerto plays with the alternation between moments of floating meditation and passages of great dramatic energy. This work thus proves to be a musical reflection on the fragility, inner voice and expressive power of the viola.
