The second in a set of three Recollections by Iannaccone, Waiting for Sunrise on the Sound represents recurring dreams of a youth spent on Long Island Sound and sometimes dangerous boating expeditions. When the sea and skies seemed about to doom the crew, the clouds would part and the waves would subside. In this orchestral and tonal setting, Iannaccone makes a concious effort to bridge the large ambience of the orchestral hall with a more intimate sound.
