Description:
Titled after words from the poem "The Snow-Storm" by Ralph Waldo Emerson, this mysterious 3/4 melody in B minor uses unexpected harmonies, shivering tremolo, and swelling crescendos to depict the blowing cold winds of an impending snow storm. Very simple finger patterns and rhythms will make young players sound mature, as cello and bass are featured prominently. Accompanied by optional swirling piano arpeggios and dramatic suspended cymbal, this string orchestra piece perfectly captures the wonder of falling snow.
