Description:
Claude Debussy once described the music of Peter Warlock (1894-1930) as encompassing a "fine dreamy musicality." CAPRIOL SUITE, one of his most popular works, is a dance suite based on Orchésographie, a book of Renaissance dances by the French priest Thoinot Arbeau. Written in October 1926, it was dedicated to composer Paul Ladmirault. Following the success of the original piano duet, Warlock scored the work for string orchestra in 1926 (in this version presented by Kalmus) and for full orchestra in 1928. Instrumentation: String Orchestra (8-8-5-5-5 in set). Reprint edition.
