Written for solo cello and strings. This work was commissioned by the Australian Chamber Orchestra with funds provided by the Arts Council of Great Britain. It was first performed on 24th November 1992, at the Fowler Centre, Wellington, New Zealand, by Steven Isserlis (cello) and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
