Description:
*Faustina Borghi* is a three-movement work by Paolo Baratto, dedicated to his dear friend Ralph Bryant. It features the cornet—or, alternatively, the oboe—in an elegant style that is both virtuosic and lyrical. The first movement, Allegro giocoso, is lively and cheerful, carried by a light, playful momentum. The central Andante offers a more intimate, lyrical moment in which the melodic line can unfold fully. The finale, Allegro comodo, returns to a lively yet relaxed character and concludes the work with verve. Accessible and charming, Faustina Borghi beautifully brings out the colors and agility of the soloist.
