Description:
In this fantasy for tuba, harp and string orchestra we drift in an ocean of musical ambiances ranging from classical fugue to funk rhythms accompanied by dreamy melodies. The piece is built in four movements, played without breaks. The first movement is a Fugue in A minor loosely related to the Sonata form, where strings, harp and tuba exchange contrapuntal phrases. The second movement allows the soloist to express lyrical abilities over a layer of smooth strings. A solo cadenza with multiphonics makes the thematic transition to the fourth movement, which is a rhythmic dialogue between orchestra and soloist. The strings, mostly in pizzicato, perform a serie of challenging patterns, answered by the tuba. Paulo Perfeito
