Description:
Ritus was originally written as an opener for the African Suite by Abdullah Ibrahim. It creates a fusion between different shades of African and European musical traditions and paints a colorful, expansive landscape in which the strings produce exotic sounds over underlying unfamiliar rhythm patterns. The piece is of medium difficulty and is also suitable for good amateur orchestras.
