Program Notes:

Rooted in the emotional depth of R&B and driven by a strong, pulsing rhythm, Shadowlight is a sonic exploration of shadow work—the practice of confronting the parts of ourselves we often keep hidden. Confronting our demons. This piece doesn't shy away from darkness. Instead, it leans into it with groove, vulnerability, and fire. The rhythm moves like a heartbeat—steady, insistent—guiding listeners through inner conflict and into clarity. Layered melodies echo the tension between resistance and revelation, embodying the truth that the walls we build to protect ourselves often block the very light we need to heal.

Shadowlight invites us to turn inward, to face what we fear, and to find power in self-awareness. The more we embrace the shadow, the more whole we become. By illuminating the dark corners of our subconscious, we can create space for more empathy, self love, and love for others.
