Description:
Sinfonia in A Major, FaWV M:A3 was composed in the early 18th century (c. 1720s-1730s) by Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688-1758), a German Baroque composer who served as Kapellmeister at the court of Anhalt-Zerbst and was widely respected by contemporaries such as J. S. Bach and Telemann. Fasch's orchestral works belong to the transitional period between the late Baroque and the emerging Classical symphony. Although often overshadowed by the works of his contemporaries, the Sinfonia in A occasionally finds itself programmed by those seeking a different Baroque voice. Instrumentation: Str (8.8.5.5.5 in set): Hpchd in score. Reprint of the edition by Adolf Hoffmann.
