Description:
Suite for String Orchestra, H. 93 was composed in 1909-1910 by Frank Bridge (1879-1941) following his student years at the Royal College of Music, where he studied composition with Charles Villiers Stanford. The suite reflects the late-Romantic English tradition and stands as an early example of the flourishing English string-orchestra repertoire that would later include works by Elgar, Holst, and Vaughan Williams. Today the Suite for String Orchestra is performed occasionally, particularly by student and chamber orchestras. Movements: 1. Prelude; 2. Intermezzo; 3. Nocturne; 4. Finale. A count of 8-8-5-5-5 strings are included in the set. Reprint edition.
