Valiant Quest

Empower your developing string orchestra students to sound advanced beyond their years with this exhilarating new composition in which both upper and lower voices shine. Written in E minor, depicting a hero or heroine bravely heading into battle, "Valiant Quest" explores concepts such as accents, slurs, dynamic changes, fermatas, and D.S. al Fine, all while staying in first position and playing basic rhythms. A slower middle section even gives basses and cellos a chance to shine with their own peaceful, pleasant melody. Soon, everybody comes back together to recapture the energy introduced at the beginning of the piece. From the first set of powerful pulsating eighth notes to the last, this is a captivating and breathtaking selection that you, your students, and your audience are sure to love!
