Description:
The two Poèmes pour orgue are dedicated to the organist Emmanuel Culcasi. The indicated registration was set on the Cavaillé-Coll organ of the Église Sainte-Croix in Saint-Malo. The first poem, entitled Sur la colline (On the hill), is inspired by my stay in August 2021 in the chapel of Ronchamp, situated on a gentle hill. The place is steeped in spirituality and is also home to a community of Poor Clare nuns. The theme of this first poem describes the joy of being in such a beautiful place, surrounded by nature. It consists of two parts: the first from bar 1 to 31, the second from bar 32 to 47. The second poem is entitled J'entends ta voix (I hear your voice). It consists of three parts and follows the form A B A'. The work is inspired by the call one feels in such an extraordinary place. The central, softer section from bar 49 onwards evokes the inner serenity that fills us. The resumption from bar 72 varies the main theme and continues to highlight the different timbres of the organ. The work ends in a great light and a beautiful energy.
