Description:
Passiontide calls for music of profound depth, contemplation, and expressive power. With "7 Choräle zur Passion", published by the renowned Doblinger Musikverlag, organists are presented with an extraordinary collection of sheet music that casts traditional Passion chorales in a captivating new light. The composer assigns a specific "mode" to each chorale, artfully reshaping the familiar melodies to unfold a mystical, almost timeless aura. This meditative quality is further heightened by extensive passages notated without a fixed meter, creating a floating, fluid space for subtle sonic nuances and personal interpretation. Ideally suited for solemn Passion services, devotions, and sophisticated organ recitals, this edition is an inspiring addition to any organist's repertoire.
