Attention! This volume does not contain simplified "made playable" versions of the top ten (or top twelve) hits of the Romantic toccata and finale literature. Rather, these are sensibly shortened arrangements that respond to the fact that many of the works are too long, especially for liturgies, but also as postludes to church services, so that the pews are often as good as emptied by the second half of the pieces at the latest. As the musical text presented here corresponds to the original versions apart from the newly created transitions between the parts, the organist who already has the pieces in his or her repertoire does not have to do any additional practicing. And in the best case scenario, they will be encouraged to get to know the complete original for the pieces they do not yet know.
