Commissioned by the American Guild of Organists for the 2026 AGO/Marilyn Mason Award in Organ Composition, Dancing under the Polarized Sky is driven forward by syncopated dancing rhythms, the piece is loosely in sonata form and contains starkly contrasting themes within a colorfully shifting harmonic landscape. The term polarized in the title refers both to the contrasting musical content and the current state in which we find our society.
