Description:
With "Gebrochene Flügel" (Broken Wings), the renowned German composer Tilo Medek created a deeply moving and expressive work for organ in 1975. The programmatic title is reflected in a fascinating musical language characterized by dramatic intensity, ethereal tonal colors, and virtuosic polyphony. Medek fully explores the sonic spectrum of the organ—from delicate manual passages to powerful pedal entries—giving the composition an impressive emotional depth. This piece is a rewarding addition and exciting challenge for ambitious organists seeking to enrich concert programs or modern liturgical settings. Published in a high-quality sheet music edition by Chester Music, this masterpiece of 20th-century organ repertoire is an essential addition to any organist's library.
