Description:
Composed as a test piece for the 60th St Albans International Organ Festival in 2023. Inspired by the story of Saint Alban, a simple, plainchant-like melody representing the martyr’s cloak gradually comes to the foreground, culminating in triumphant, fervent sounds of beatification. Although originally conceived for a 3-manual organ, the piece can be adapted for a smaller or larger instrument.
