Description:
This "Te Deum" was composed as praise to God. Originating from an improvisation, it passionately and lyrically presents several motifs that are closely related to Gregorian chant.
The composer
The Liechtenstein organist Thomas Nipp (*1969) completed his studies in church music at the Lucerne Academy of School and Church Music in 1994. In 1996, he passed his concert diploma in organ (with Monika Henking) with distinction. He also obtained a teaching diploma in piano with Peter Baur. Further studies with Naji Hakim in Paris and Franz Lehrndorfer in Munich. He has taken part in various master classes for organ. At regular concerts in many European countries, he demonstrates his great skill and wide-ranging repertoire.
Thomas Nipp is active as an organist, music teacher and conductor of choirs. One focus of his musical interest is the organ works of the Liechtenstein composer Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger. In 2005 he gave a master class in Trondheim (Norway) on "The organ works of J.G. Rheinberger". He is also a board member of the "International Rheinberger Society".
