Description:
Commissioned by the Gilmore Festival and premiered by Gilbert Kalish, this work includes J.S. Bach's original aria and 12 new variations by Del Tredici, Foss, Hersch, Bolcom, Sheng, Higdon, Gothoni, Curtis-Smith, Zupko, Walden, Bermel and Lerdahl. It has been performed twice at the Gilmore Keyboard Festival (once by Kalish himself, and in 2006 by Lori Sims).
