Description:
The five shorter piano pieces are taken from Rossini's "Péchés de vieillesse" (Sins of Old Age), which are still little known today. This group of works, unpublished by the composer, was written in the last decade of his life from 1857 onwards. Among Rossini aficionados, the "Péchés" are considered an insider's tip: they were selected as pianistic cabinet pieces in which witty and caricature-like nuances sometimes flash out.
