These eight Transcendent Sketches of high pianistic standard illustrate various facets of hypertonality by alluding to different, simultaneously physiological and planetary movements ("outbursts", "swaying", "vibrations", "upswings", "palpations"); in order to bundle them into a unified breath ("inhalations", "exhalations"), which meditation transforms into soulful breathing ("ecstasies"). In terms of expression, the interpretation deepens from piece to piece until it finally exploits the instrument's tonal palette to the greatest possible extent.
