Description:
Along the River describes the journey of the Isar from its source in the Karwendel to its confluence with the Danube and finally into the Black Sea.
Water Lilies Waltz sketches the gentle swaying of water lilies in the slow current of the Ammer, which flows into the Ammersee in a beautiful nature reserve. Inspired by walks with his grandparents in this magical place, the composer wrote this "false" waltz in 4/4 time.
Excited schoolchildren on the first day of school, with their mostly even more excited parents and grandparents - this festive bustle, the smartly dressed children and the festively dressed parents, who usually hold the oversized school bags of their little protégés in their arms, inspired the composer to write the title Einschulung.
Lion Heart was a musical birthday present and was premiered in the legendary Hangar 7 in Salzburg in 2024. A powerful piece in 6/8 time with much use of the sostenuto pedal for a massive, strong piano sound.
Sorrow - a mantra-like, recurring melody that has helped the composer deal with pain and grief.
Champagne in London is the musical treatment of the composer's wedding proposal to his wife, which happened in a London club. Unplanned, weeping on his knees to hard disco sounds, the composer was kindly comforted by numerous Londoners, who all wondered why this big man was crying on the floor and his future wife was beaming so brightly. After clarifying the situation, there was much laughter and champagne was ordered to celebrate the day.
At the Oktoberfest'... - the often bizarre goings-on at the Munich Oktoberfest are musically processed in this work.
