Description:
The Houtsoul Watercolours, like the Ukrainian Suite, take up motifs and harmonic modes from Western Ukraine.
Contrast, poetry, nature, freedom and folklore plunge us into the world of the Carpathians, where we feel the influence of its traditional dances and ethnic customs, but also those of French composers and Jazz.
The "wild" dynamics of certain passages, pianistically impressive, are surpassed by the virtuoso writing for the instrument, which Ihor Shamo explores in a fascinating way.
