Description:
The ANACROUSE collection offers novice and experienced pianists alike a wide choice of classical works, from the Renaissance to the modern era.
We have set ourselves the goal of offering both "must-haves" from the classical repertoire and pieces by sometimes forgotten composers, all of undeniable pedagogical value. Each piece, sold individually, has been the subject of careful editorial work, both in terms of the musical text and its engraving, in order to guarantee musicians the conditions essential to the pleasures derived from the frequent trade in these works.
The scores are offered in the form of traditional works (paper sheets), and also available by download.
Famous tune, Toréador is taken from Bizet's opera Carmen. The work premiered on March 3, 1875 at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. Originally composed for a bass singer, the piece tells the story of how Escamillo, a handsome toreador, seduces Carmen just as she had seduced Don José, a Basque brigadier. Part of the opera's drama is played out between these two men, who fight a duel for the love of the gypsy girl. With its delightfully dotted rhythms and rousing melody, this piano arrangement will delight fans of the genre as well as the merely curious.
