Description:
The ANACROUSE collection offers novice and experienced pianists alike a wide choice of classical works, from the Renaissance to the modern era.
We have set ourselves the goal of offering both "must-haves" from the classical repertoire and pieces by sometimes forgotten composers, all of undeniable pedagogical value. Each piece, sold individually, has been the subject of careful editorial work, both in terms of the musical text and its engraving, in order to guarantee musicians the conditions indispensable to the pleasures derived from frequent trade in these works.
The scores are offered in the form of traditional works (paper sheets), and also available by download.
Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy was composed in 1890. It is the third movement of the Suite Bergamasque, published in 1905.
One of Debussy's most fascinating works, it comprises four movements (Prélude, Menuet, Clair de Lune, Passepied). The name of the third movement was probably inspired by Paul Verlaine's poem Clair de Lune. Its large musical passages are constantly played pianissimo, with intense emotional return passages and an emotional detachment that ranks among the most important Impressionist works.
Clair de Lune is played in D-flat major, with the exception of its point of greatest intensity, played in C-sharp minor. Debussy gives this piece the impression of a dark, imprecise atmosphere, while a mysterious luminosity emerges from a cloud of mist.
This must-have Clair de Lune by Debussy remains one of the best-known piano works, and is sure to stir the imagination of all pianists who love Romanticism.
