With the new Urtext Primo series, Wiener Urtext Edition aims to close the gap that arises after studying a piano school when moving on to further lessons. Starting from a playing level outlined by pieces such as Bach's Minuet in G (BWV Anh. 116), Mozart's Minuet in F (KV 5) or Schumann's Wilder Reiter (op. 68/8), works by three different composers have been selected for each booklet in the Urtext Primo series with the aim of offering piano students (or adult returners) a range of repertoire pieces with which they can further develop their technical and musical skills. The range of difficulty of the pieces is relatively narrow so that the volume can be used continuously over a period of about two years. In this respect, the Urtext Primo concept differs from almost all other standard collection albums. The repertoire selection includes pieces from the classical teaching canon as well as lesser-known works that are by no means less relevant for piano lessons. The Urtext Primo volumes are published in the internationally recognized standard of the Vienna Urtext editions. The explanatory notes included with each booklet are intended to help deepen knowledge of musical styles, music history and specific piano techniques. A repertoire table at the end of each booklet gives a rough overview of the difficulty of the pieces compiled.

Urtext Primo 6 contains easy piano music by three composers, Clementi, Czerny and Cramer, all of whom have made a name for themselves as piano teachers with piano schools and study literature. Muzio Clementi not only offers a selection of his popular sonatinas, the selected pieces by Carl Czerny show that it is possible to do without old-fashioned piano lesson stuffiness and Johann Baptist Cramer (known for the etudes by Cramer-Bülow) also offers a repertoire that is not just for advanced students.
