Description:
Corpus volubilis is a tribute to the body, its movements, its weightlessness. It was written over the last several years during my long concert tours worldwide, and during the lockdown in April 2020. ,In this first book, we find twenty pieces of moderate difficulty, for the most part inspired by dances such as the "Sarabande, Slow waltz" and "Rumba. Odette" refers to "Swan Lake, Sama" to whirling dervishes.,"Avant-deux" and "Roum" are related to Breton dances (a nod to my origins), "Awa Odori" and "Buto" to Japanese, "Soko" to Guianese and "Ezpata-dantza" to Basque dances. ,The Balinese town "Ubud" hosts one of the most important Indonesian art festivals. "Faune" acknowledges Debussy, "Vaudou" the Caribbean. As for my "Mort du cygne", it pays homage to the classical ballet of the same name. "My swan", however, lacks elegance. It dies with no tutu, ugly and awkward. ,Each piece is dedicated to a dear friend. A second book will be coming soon!,,Alexandre Tharaud
