Déserts is a collection of five pieces for solo piano inspired by the theme of the desert and the images associated with it.among these images, the idea of an open space that allows one to listen to oneself and the world, as well as vitality reinforced by extreme conditions.each piece evokes a particular desert:

1. Wadi Rum, the desert carved out by the river: located in Jordan, this desert was originally the bed of a river that has now dried up, leaving only a trace. The notion of trace lies at the heart of this piece: a ghostly harmony, maintained by the tonal pedal, underpins the entire work and resonates in response to rapid, punctual gestures.

This resonance evokes, by analogy, the vastness of Wadi Rum, as well as the idea of a space only apparently empty but in reality resonating with life.

2. Uyuni, the salt desert. The world's largest expanse of salt is found in Bolivia. When it rains, the thin layer of water transforms this desert into a natural mirror that reflects the sky.

3. Atacama, the flowering desert: stretching between southern Peru and northern Chile, this area, although one of the driest on the planet, is transformed into an immense flowering valley every five years or so, thanks to the El Niño currents.

4. Murzuq, the sea of sand: a vast desert region (erg) in Libya, made up of dunes, all almost identical.

5. Hammada, the rocky desert: a widespread desert ecosystem in the Western Sahara, composed of arid terrain and rocky plateaus, making life particularly difficult.
