Description:
Miloslav Kabelác (1908–1979), one of the most important Czech composers of the 20th century, repeatedly devoted himself to works for children and young people. He wrote a series of vocal and piano pieces for her, on which he worked with great pleasure. These include the "Easy Preludes" op. 26 for children who are just starting to play the piano. The pieces were written at the end of 1954, and Kabelác dedicated them to "My Little Daughter".
These 16 masterfully written, instructive pieces, arranged according to gradually increasing difficulty, are ideal for educational purposes. Two preludes were included in the extremely successful Czech "Piano Method for Beginners" (Z. Böhmová – A. Grünfeldová – A. Sarauer).
The printed edition of the "Easy Preludes" was published in 1957 by the pianist and wife of the composer, Berta Kabelácová-Rixová, and will now be published here in a new edition (2024).
