Seven short pieces, Seven meanders of the global route, Seven stages traversed without lingering, Seven flights whose possible futures remain unspoken. Freeze-frames, Potential points of departure, Impulses not prolonged, Intimate lodgings where, with no particular expectations, one can quietly remain, from which, for a fuller story, one could also launch out. Each of these deliberately narrowed universes could give rise to a series of deductions, a descent, a lineage. I kept to the opening statement, concentrating on the link to the present, leaving the horizon freely open. However, during the composition stage, and as I finalized the order of the pieces, a few accepted or provoked interferences became part of the whole. Thus, in the communal relationship of these individual episodes, discrete gestural or textual reminiscences emerge here and there along the way: accelerated, slowed-down, enlarged figures, sleet, bells?
