Description:
The new edition of the Wiener Urtext Edition of Mozart's important Fantasia and Sonata in C minor K. 475/457 is based on the first edition and on the autograph, which has only been accessible again for a few years; other early editions were consulted for comparison. Mozart revised the work for publication and provided precise performance markings. The new edition makes it possible to reproduce both versions, whereby the slow movement in the unornamented version of the autograph is also printed here for the first time as an appendix. The comparison of the original version with the version intended for printing allows deep insights into the performance practice of Mozart and his time.
