The Requiem stands out from the abundance of Mozart fragments, but there are also fragments in many other genres in Mozart's music which are at least sufficiently developed to serve as a basis for a supplement. In the case of the two additions for two pianos, the editor has also taken other, thematically appropriate Mozart fragments for one piano and arranged them for two pianos. In this way, a completion is achieved which is largely based on authentic material.

The result of this creative exploration are two additional concertante and very effective works for two pianos, which offer a valuable extension to the two works Mozart completed for this instrumentation. A few years after Mozart's death, Abbé Maximilian Stadler had already completed his fragment Larghetto and Allegro in E flat major for two pianos (KV deest ) in a restrained manner. Anyone who completes fragments knows that the original author would have continued composing differently in any case; Abbé Stadler's sensitive handling of what he left unfinished was a model for editor Michael Töpel's additions.
