Description:
Robert Schumann's Faschingsschwank aus Wien op. 26 is one of the composer's most popular and most studied piano cycles. Originally conceived as a 'great romantic sonata', the rondo-like first movement unfolds images of a colorful carnival scene. The edition is based on the musical text of the New Schumann Complete Edition and thus represents the latest state of Schumann research. Tobias Koch's notes on interpretation are based on the sound of fortepianos from Schumann's time.
