Description:
Zigmund Schul, who was born in Chemnitz in 1916 and died in the ghetto of Terezin in 1944, is one of the authors who have been neglected so far in connection with the reviewing and reappraising of the music by the so called 'Terezin composers'. In collaboration with the Terezín Music Memorial Project in Tel Aviv and the Yad Vashem memorial, Bote & Bock intermittently publishing all extant works by the Hindemith and Hába pupil Zigmund Schul, apart from other authors, including chamber music for string instruments, vocal and choral works as well as a piano fugue.Beginning the fugue with a theme spanning over two octaves, Zigmund Schul leads the fugue to a wonderful eruptive finale of chordal sounds.
