Heinz Erhardt lag Musik im Blut. Sein Vater, Kapellmeister - sein Großvater, Inhaber einer Musikalienhandlung.Die sollte Enkel Heinz mal übernehmen. Doch der junge Heinz Erhardt hatte da ganz andere Pläne:Während seiner Ausbildung zum Musikalienhändler zwischen 1926 und 1928 liess er sich auch am Leipziger Konservatorium am Klavier und in Komposition ausbilden.Aus dieser Zeit stammen auch viele seiner Klavierwerke. 1928 kehrte er nach Riga zurück und arbeitete im grossväterlichen Musikhaus Neldner. Hier spielte und komponierte Heinz Erhardt aber lieber auf den Klavieren anstatt sie zu verkaufen.'Walzer eines Wahnsinnigen' ist nur eine von 20 bisher unveröffentlichten Klavierkompositionen von Heinz Erhardt.
