Description:
The two-movement sonata is Haydn's only piano work for four hands. He undoubtedly pursued pedagogical intentions in this piece, because in the extended variation movement the teacher always plays before the pupil. The pupil can therefore grasp articulation, phrasing, dynamics, tone quality, tempo and rhythm by ear and directly imitate the teacher - a thoroughly modern teaching principle. The renowned piano duo Bauer-Bung provides suggestions on how this four-hand piano piece can be worked on in lessons.
