Description:
This edition was published by Jan Ekier, the editor of the Polish National Edition of Chopin's works. Ekier was active in his home country both as a scholar and as a soloist and teacher. Such artistic diversity characterized his editorial work and is ideally suited to the idea of the Wiener Urtext Edition as an Urtext edition for practical use. Ekier's scholarly work reflects his profound knowledge of the music and tradition of his compatriot Chopin and makes not only his prefaces and notes on interpretation, but even the critical notes, extremely readable beyond their actual purpose.
