Robert Schumann

Kinderszenen op. 15

This edition contains the complete piano score of Robert Schumann’s *Kinderszenen*, Op. 15—thirteen short character pieces composed in 1838. A poetic glimpse into childhood, composed for adults.

Included are:

Of Foreign Lands and People · A Curious Story · The Little Man · The Pleading Child · Happiness Enough · An Important Event · Daydream · By the Fireplace · The Knight on a Hobby Horse · Almost Too Serious · Scaring the Child · Child Falling Asleep · The Poet Speaks.

The best-known piece is the famous "Träumerei" (No. 7); "Of Foreign Lands and People" (No. 1) and "The Poet Speaks" (No. 13) are also frequently performed. Each miniature piece captivates with its own character and intimate, dreamlike atmosphere. Ideal for intermediate beginners through advanced players who wish to work on tone production, phrasing, and melodic touch. Despite their manageable technical demands, the pieces require musical maturity—an ideal bridge between technique and expression.
