The ANACROUSE collection offers novice and experienced pianists alike a wide choice of classical works, from the Renaissance to the modern era.

We have set ourselves the goal of offering both "must-haves" from the classical repertoire and pieces by sometimes forgotten composers, all of undeniable pedagogical value. Each piece, sold individually, has been the subject of careful editorial work, both in terms of the musical text and its engraving, in order to guarantee musicians the conditions essential to the pleasures derived from frequent trade in these works.

The scores are offered in traditional book form (paper sheets), and also available by download.

Swan Lake (Lebedinoje osero in Russian) is a ballet in four acts, premiered at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow in 1877. Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was the composer and Vladimir Begichev the librettist (based on an old German legend, the stolen Veil, taken from the "folk tales of the Germans").
At the time, audiences were unaccustomed to such "symphonic" music for a ballet: this one suffered a "humiliating disappointment" (Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky).
After many changes to the structure, choreography and score, Swan Lake (the second act only) was performed at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in memory of the composer, who died on November 6, 1893...and then enjoyed the success it deserved on January 15, 1895 in an almost definitive version, under the influence of the famous Petipa.
Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky tried to bring together in Swan Lake the traditional elements of ballet with music that carried a powerful narrative. He carefully weighs up the importance of these different elements: the action and narrative scenes exemplify what is called his "symphonic manner", the dances that accompany the action are musically rich, and the entertainment is as light as it is attractive.
Swan Lake is one of the world's most famous ballets.
