Tadeusz Kassatti

Le Petit Homme

This collection of eleven pieces for piano four-hands tells the story of a little man’s adventurous journey across the market square, dressed in the most fantastical garments. It is a veritable gallery of musical images, in which each movement bears a playful title, accompanied by a narrative epigraph full of humor and poetry. Written for two pianists sharing a single piano, the work displays constant inventiveness: quiet moments alternate with mischievous passages, and energetic sections blend with tender moments. Kassatti creates accessible and joyful music, imbued with imagination, in which the marvelous always finds its place and which celebrates the complicity and musical understanding between the two performers. A joyful invitation to explore the extraordinary in the everyday.
