Description:
The second volume of "Modern Piano" focuses heavily on harmony and voicing arrangements in accompaniment: starting with the most common harmonic turns in pop and rock we will move on to an introduction of jazz voicings, with special attention to right hand turns. A number of important topics such as improvisation and rearrangement in pop songs, modal scales, soul and swing rhythms, as well as "tricks of the trade" referring to the left and right hand in the accompaniment of pop songs, especially piano and vocals, will also be covered. In this volume, the following pop songs are analyzed: Let it be, Hey Jude (The Beatles), La vie en rose (Edith Piaf), Sally (Vasco Rossi).
The modern piano course is recommended for all musicians who want to play in bands, accompany singers or play modern solo piano; it is also aimed at singers and voice teachers as great consideration is given to the construction of vocals, ear training exercises, transposition and vocal improvisation. Author Gabriele Bernardi has been teaching piano for many years at VMS master teacher courses in Milan and at NAM in Milan.
