Description:
With "Rain Tree Sketch II – In memoriam Olivier Messiaen", the renowned Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu created one of his most touching late works for solo piano. Written in 1992 as a tribute to his close friend and mentor Olivier Messiaen, the piece captivates with its poetic sonic language, fluid textures, and delicate nuances reminiscent of gently falling raindrops. This high-quality sheet music edition from Schott Japan presents advanced pianists and lovers of modern piano literature with a masterpiece of meditative depth and sonic elegance. Its luminous harmonies and subtle dynamics call for both a refined touch and great interpretive sensitivity. Discover an indispensable highlight of contemporary repertoire—a resonant memorial and a deeply moving addition to any recital program.
