Description:

Here are compositions of the most famous Lithuanian composer and painter Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911). His music is partly written in late romantic style, but most important for composer’s discoveries in proto-serialism and constructivism in the first years of the 20th century (his serial compositions were composed in 1904-1906). This edition, formed in two notebooks, includes all pieces requested for the M. K. Čiurlionis International Piano and Organ Competition, organized in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Urtexts are edited by musicologist Darius Kučinskas according to manuscripts, held in the National Čiurlionis Art Museum, Kaunas.
