Description:
The ANACROUSE collection offers novice and experienced pianists alike a wide choice of classical works, from the Renaissance to the modern era.
We have set ourselves the goal of offering both "must-haves" from the classical repertoire and pieces by sometimes forgotten composers, all of undeniable pedagogical value. Each piece, sold individually, has been the subject of careful editorial work, both in terms of the musical text and its engraving, in order to guarantee musicians the conditions essential to the pleasures derived from frequent trade in these works.
The scores are offered in traditional book form (paper sheets), and also available by download.
Trish Trash Polka or Tritsh Tratsh Polka (op. 214) is a polka written in 1858 by Johann Strauss II, after he toured Russia. The title can be interpreted as `Chit-chat` and may refer to a certain Viennese passion for gossip. Johann Strauss II may also have been referring to the only burlesque play "Der Tritsch-Tratsch" by Austrian playwright and actor Johann Nepomuk Nestroy. Others claim that the title may have been the name of Strauss's first wife's dog...
Polka is a dance originating in the Czech Republic, a two-beat, fairly fast tempo, with well-articulated rhythms. With 160 opus numbers, Johann Strauss II is undoubtedly the polka master of the late 19th century.
Here, the mood of this short piece is casual and fearless, like many of Johann Strauss II's polkas. Trish Trash Polka is highly contrasted in terms of nuances, and the support is given by the percussion, which is very present in this funny, light-hearted piece.
