Description:
The ANACROUSE collection offers novice and experienced pianists alike a wide choice of classical works, from the Renaissance to the modern era.
We have set ourselves the goal of offering both "must-haves" from the classical repertoire and pieces by sometimes forgotten composers, all of undeniable pedagogical value. Each piece, sold individually, has been the subject of careful editorial work, both in terms of the musical text and its engraving, in order to guarantee musicians the conditions indispensable to the pleasures derived from frequent trade in these works.
The scores are offered in the form of traditional works (paper sheets), and also available by download.
Opus 39 is composed of sixteen waltzes. Originally published in 1865 as a four-hand version, Brahms created a simplified two-hand version in 1867.
These sixteen exquisite waltzes are Brahms's only testimony to the Viennese tradition. Waltz n°3 Op. 39, as delightful as the famous waltz n°15 Op. 39, intoxicates us with a swirling melody that surrenders to the to-and-fro of the ternary rhythm. The swaying rhythm is an invitation to dance. This waltz is constructed in a simple form: ABA. This means that the first theme is repeated in the final section, and the central theme is different. Lovers of Viennese waltzes and Strauss will be seduced by the harmonious, melancholy wave of this piece, which finally gives free rein to the dance.
